Non-sls Homemade Chamomile Fields Shampoo
What you need:
4 bags of Chamomile tea (or 1 handful of fresh Chamomile flowers)
4 tablespoons soap flakes
1-1/2 tablespoons glycerin
Instruction: Lay the tea bags in 1-1/2 cups of boiled water for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and add the soap flakes. Let stand until the soap softens. Stir in glycerin until mixture is absolutely blended. Pour your homemade shampoo into a bottle. Keep in a dark, cool place.
Sls free Homemade Soapwart Shampoo Recipe
It is suitable for all hair types. Soapwart (Saponaria officinalis) contains natural saponins that is similar to soap by its characteristics and it lathers like soap. It also includes Lemon Verbena for fragrance and good hair growth.
What you need:
2 cups distilled water
1-1/2 tablespoons dried soapwart root (chopped) (you may find it in health food store)
2 teaspoons Lemon Verbena or 2 teaspoons Catnip
Instruction: boil the water and add soapwart and simmer, keep the mixture covered for about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, add herb then allow shampoo to cool. Filter the mixture keeping the liquid. Pour into a bottle. This will be enough for 6-7 shampoos. Your homemade shampoo must be used within 7-10 days. Keep in a cool dark place.
Homemade Dry Shampoo Recipe
What you need:
1/2 cup of cornstarch that is used to absorb the hairs oils.
Instruction: sprinkle the cornstarch in the hair, let it absorb the oils and dirt for a few minutes, brush it out. This dry homemade shampoo is great if you are in a pinch.
All of above is also good for color treated hair.
