Sodium laureth sulfate

Sodium laureth sulfate and SLS - what is the difference between them?

Sodium laureth sulfate is the safest chemical compound in terms of ability to cause irritation to the skin, it creates a good lather, ensures a good cleaning, after washing your hair will remain in good condition. It is the most widely used surface-active substance. Sodium laureth sulfate has fewer side effects.

SLES is less irritating than sodium lauryl sulfate, but it leads to more severe dryness, which can be avoided by intense water flushing.

I decided to check out my new shampoo for presense of SLS or SDS, and, lo and behold, there was no SLS in composition! But rather safe Sodium Laureth Sulfate was there.

What a question: Do you distinguish these 2 components, or use to think that it is the same thing?

But keep in mind, due of reaction with other ingredients of and shampoo, the formation of carcinogens and nitrates dioxanes may appear. They can penetrate into human blood and organism.
